“Maintaining Mental Fitness for Life”
(No registration is required)
This workshop draws on recent findings in neuroscience which are transforming our understanding of the human capacity for growth and change throughout our life span. Virtually everyone can develop and enhance their memory and cognitive skills as well as emotional and social intelligence - allowing us to live with greater ease, resilience and well-being, especially in stressful times. The exciting news is these are learnable skills and with practice, can actually change the physical structure of the brain.
Focus will be on practical, every day activities at work and at home that can lead to increased mental fitness, regardless of age (the younger the better) ability or life circumstances. Marilyn will give us existing resources as well as brainstorm for new ideas for university based resources. The session will be interactive with an opportunity to experiment with a few ‘mental games’. You will have access to the mental fitness life-style assessment tool.
